OPD of AIIMS, Kalyani has started functioning from Wednesday with 30 patients

AIIMS Kalyani, WB starts OPD from Jan 27th, 2021

The Out Patient Department (OPD) of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Kalyani in WB has started functioning from Wednesday in a limited way , a top official of the health facility said. Prof. Dr. Ramji Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS, Kalyani told that our doctors had attended 30 patients at the OPD on Wednesday, 27th of Jan’21.

He also informed that limited OPD facility would only run at an initial phase for the departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Psychiatry and Dermatology. Later on, the OPD facility will open for other departments and try to cover all disease.

Hospital has launched an app with the name of 'AIIMS Kalyani Swasthya' for booking an appointment in advance for OPD consultation by patients besides patients can call to 09477717030 and 033-29516005 for the appointment. This app is now available at Google Play store.

AIIMS, Kalyani, currently giving 100 appointments per day for OPD consultations on first come basis and the time of OPD registration is between 10 am to 4 pm. The advance registration system for OPD appointment has been taken on for the security & safety of the patients as well as campus as the construction work is still going on, Singh said. The OPD will close on Saturday, Sunday and Central government holidays. Only the patients with a prior appointment will be allowed inside the OPD.

IPD (Indoor Patient Department) service will start most probably from the month of September 2021 with 300 beds which will be increased later on but that depends on handing over the new building by construction agency as Prof. Dr. Ranjit Singh said.

The AIIMS, Kalyani is being constructed on 197 acres of land at Kalyani's Bashantapur area in Nadia district, and the project cost is Rs 1,200 crore. The Govt. of India has built this Institution by keeping in mind to serve the patients of WB and North East here. A Dharmasala has been created for the lodging of patient parties with an accommodation facility of 156 persons.
